Funerals & Memorials

Qualified Funeral Celebrants specialising in Cremations, Burials, Natural Burials, Ashes Interments, Celebrations of Life and Living Funerals. We create sensitive, compassionate and personalised services in East Sussex and West Sussex.

I am here to help you through what can be an emotionally stressful and difficult time. You may be reading this because you have recently lost a loved one or you are preparing for a death.

An independent civil funeral celebrant is trained to support the needs of families at their time of loss, giving them complete autonomy to design funeral services exactly the way they want them.

I will work with you to capture the essence of your loved one, to tell a personal and fitting goodbye, by providing a beautiful and bespoke service to really honour their memory. This can be a non-religious service or include elements of religion, spiritual beliefs or cultural practices, exactly as you wish.

You don’t have to worry about all the details because you will be in safe hands. I will work with your funeral director to make sure that on the day everything is taken care of.

Memorials and Scattering of Ashes

You may wish to hold a memorial after the cremation or burial to have more time to share stories and say farewell with friends and family. I am happy to help you carry some of the ceremony into the wake and make it special and meaningful for you, to ensure you feel you have the time you need to say goodbye.

Sometimes families wish to have a more formal memorial event for the scattering of ashes or a service of remembrance and I am happy to join you to make this a special and meaningful time to help you say goodbye. You may wish this to be at a natural burial site, at sea, or at a place which was meaningful to your loved one.

Living Funerals

If you are nearing the end of your life and wish to write your own funeral or even hold a living funeral, I can help and support you to do this. Some people may wish to take the pressure away from their families or have a plan as to how their funeral should be. You may wish to arrange a special celebration where you can spend time with friends and family, sharing the moment with them.

Planning the Service

You can either contact me directly or your funeral director can ask me to get in touch with you.

The starting point is for us to meet and we can talk about your loved one which will give me a good idea of their character. From there I will go away and write a bespoke service for you and include any readings, music, poems, tributes you would like. We will work together until you are happy with the content and you feel that it is the fitting tribute they deserve and that says goodbye in a way that is meaningful and personal to you.

I will liaise with your funeral director and other professionals involved to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day. After the funeral I can provide you with a keepsake script for you to keep if you wish.
